Care
The house
Made to be kept. A few habits will add years to a piece.
Kept, not replaced.
01
Washing
Wash less than you think you need to. Air a piece between wears and spot-clean where you can. When it does need washing, follow the label sewn inside, use cool water and a mild detergent, and turn printed and dyed pieces inside out.
02
Drying
Dry flat or on a line, away from direct sun. Avoid the tumble dryer, which shortens the life of almost every fabric. Reshape knitted and bias-cut pieces by hand while they are still damp.
03
Pressing
Steam rather than iron where possible. Press on the reverse through a cloth, and test a hidden seam first on delicate or hand-finished fabrics.
04
Storing
Fold knits and heavy pieces so they do not stretch on a hanger. Hang dresses and tailoring on shaped hangers, with room between them. Keep everything clean, dry and out of the light.
05
Repair
A loose button or an open seam is not the end of a piece. Write to us with its number before you set it aside, and we will tell you how it can be mended.
